CLOPPER v. HARVARD at the 1-year anniversary of my show
Hello everyone. It's Eric Clopper here, the creator of the one-man play, "Sex & Circumcision: An American Love Story", that premiered at Harvard University exactly one year ago today on May 1st, 2018.
Now, it has been a long year for me, but I am back and I am back for good and it's time for me to issue some updates as well as to find out who my true supporters really are. Now, first and foremost, I am officially pursuing litigation versus the president and fellows of Harvard College and other related parties. Now, I'm no longer rattling the saber. I've already paid the retainer for the leading Boston trial firm that I've hired to litigate my case from the $20,000 we were able to raise following the premiere of my show last year. So again, thank you so much for your support. It really means the world to me. And now ... now it really begins.
Now this is an important case defending our constitutional right to free speech, including the freedom we have to call out groups, whether they be medical or religious or whomever, who are committing unadulterated acts of sexual violence against our children. Now if I could, I would pay for this entire lawsuit with my own money in a heartbeat, but I spent my entire life savings on my show, which was the right thing to do and I'd do it again, but I also lost my job and it's been a pretty tough year in general, which is why I'm asking for your help.
Harvard has a $38 billion endowment. That is more than the GDP of most countries, according to the UN. I, on the other hand, have $20,000 in student loan debt. Thankfully, money does not dictate truth. I am correct in both my unwavering stance against cutting into the flesh of children and in my right to say it.
However, there's no way I can pursue justice or set this important precedent defending free speech without your help. It is going to cost hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars to bring in defendants such as Harvard to trial. Thankfully I have negotiated with my extremely capable law firm of a legal cap of $150,000 which all things considered is a reasonable price considering the work that lay ahead for them.
So here's the deal. I need 200 people to stand by me, 200 people to pledge $1 a day. Literally $1. That's pennies, right? And it will add up in time, I assure you. And for $1 a day to support me in this lawsuit, I'm going to give you a few things.
First, I'm going to give you a copy of my new book that's coming out very soon. A signed color book, Sex & Circumcision: An American Love Story, which has the play as well as some additional facts throughout which further illuminate some of the broader problems our society is facing as well as a preface that describes the lead up and the fallout of my show and the strength and importance of my lawsuit.
Then we will also connect one-on-one, so I can get to know and thank you personally. You can ask me any questions you may have and potentially we can brainstorm on how to move this movement forward to its completion. And finally we'll have group calls where I can give you updates as possible, whether on the case or other parts of the global human rights movement to protect our children from sexual violence as epitomized by circumcision.
So please, if you'll stand with me in protecting my rights against Harvard and more broadly our children's rights against those who would harm them, please go to clopper.com that's C-L-O-P-P-E-R.com and for just $1 a day we can send a message to those who would censor the truth to defend baby mutilation, that this behavior is unacceptable, and obviously and radically so.
We will raise this money, we will pursue litigation, and we will set this important legal precedent.
So again, thank you so much for any support you'd be willing to give for just a dollar a day, at clopper.com. I'll give you my book, we can talk, and we will be in touch moving forward. We're going to move on to the next phase.
